1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Recilio, we may collect account details such as your name, email address and identifiers; receipt images and extracted receipt or expense information; categories, notes, reports and exports; organization membership and workflow information; subscription status; support communications; and limited device, diagnostic and usage information needed to operate and secure the Services.
We do not store your plain-text account password.
Camera and photo access
Recilio may request access to your camera or photo library only when you choose to scan or upload a receipt. Access remains subject to your device permissions.
Business accounts
Authorized organization administrators may be able to view business-related receipts, expenses, approval status and related records according to their permissions.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to create and maintain accounts, authenticate users, scan and analyze receipts, extract information with OCR and artificial intelligence, categorize expenses, generate exports, provide individual and business features, manage subscriptions, provide support, send transactional messages, prevent abuse, diagnose issues, maintain performance and comply with legal obligations.
3. Artificial Intelligence and Document Processing
Receipt images and related document information may be processed using OCR, machine-learning or artificial-intelligence services to provide requested features. Automated results may contain errors; review important financial, tax or business information before relying on it.
4. Service Providers
We may use vetted providers for cloud hosting and storage, authentication, document processing, artificial intelligence, email delivery, subscriptions, diagnostics and support. They may process information only as needed to provide their services and subject to applicable agreements and law.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell personal information or receipt data to advertisers. We may disclose information to service providers acting for us, authorized organization administrators, when necessary for a feature you request, when required by law, to investigate fraud or security threats, or in connection with a lawful business transfer.
6. Data Storage and International Processing
Information may be stored or processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and require service providers to protect information consistently with applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described here, protect security, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations. After deletion, information is deleted or anonymized unless retention is legally required. Limited backup copies may remain temporarily.
8. Account and Data Deletion
You may initiate deletion in the Recilio application where available or follow the instructions on our Account & Data Deletion page. Removing the application from your device does not delete your account or cancel a store subscription.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information; restrict or object to processing; or withdraw consent. Contact hello@recil.io to submit a request. We may need to verify your identity.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should also protect your device and account credentials.
11. Children's Privacy
Recilio is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to online services in their location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
12. Third-Party Links
The Services may link to third-party websites or services. Their own terms and privacy policies govern information they process directly.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to Recilio, legal requirements or our practices. We will publish the updated version here and revise the effective date.
